KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — You can see a peculiar spectacle at the New Yangnyu Mud Pond in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan: mud on fire.
The mud volcano is a privately owned tourist spot in Kaoshiung. When it releases fumes, the owner of the tourist spot will light some newspapers and throw them into the pond to attract visitors.
The owner said the volcano is bubbling more than usual because of recent earthquakes in Taiwan.
There is a natural fire and water cave wonder in Southern Taiwan as well. The fire never extinguishes because of the gas that comes out of the cave. It is also known as the seven wonders of Taiwan.
