TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Inflation in Taiwan has soared in recent months, impacting the prices of many daily necessities.
Japanese celebrity Hiromi Kitagawa was shocked at the price of groceries at a local supermarket during her recent visit to Taiwan.
She said the prices are about three times higher than in Japanese supermarkets.
And due to the rising prices of ingredients such as eggs and butter, local businesses have also increased prices as well to maintain business.
To combat the soaring egg prices, the Taiwanese Council of Agriculture reportedly said it has done everything in its power to stabilize prices.
