YOKOSUKA, Japan (TVBS News) — Japan’s military launched on Sunday (Nov. 6) the celebrations of the Maritime Self-Defense Force’s 70th anniversary, featuring the navies of 14 countries, including the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, India, and Thailand.
This year’s fleet review is the largest cross-nation review in the last 20 years. Japan showcased all sorts of warships, helicopters, and fighter jets, such as the Izumo-class helicopter destroyer, Apache, Chinook, and F-15. The US has F-35B and F/A-18 jets.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who oversaw the event, stated that a stable international order needs to be built to protect the people and maintain regional peace and stability. TVBS is the only Taiwanese news outlet to be reporting the International Fleet Review directly from the Izumo-class helicopter destroyer in Yokosuka, Japan.
