Warm weekend ahead for Taiwan (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Meteorologist Daniel Wu, an adjunct associate professor at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Central University, on Friday (April 12) forecasted a warm weekend with scattered showers in parts of Taiwan.
Wu said sunny weather on Friday and Saturday with a chance of isolated showers in mountainous regions and the island's eastern half is forecasted. He also warned of potential fog in Kinmen, Matsu, and the western half of Taiwan.
Looking ahead to Sunday and next Monday, Wu said Taiwan would see stable, sunny weather, with temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius in some areas. He advised residents to take precautions against sunburn and heatstroke.
As a frontal system approaches the following Monday and Tuesday, Wu noted the possibility of brief, localized showers in northern Taiwan during the afternoon.
Despite the loose structure and minimal impact of the front passing over Taiwan next Wednesday and Thursday, Wu warned of atmospheric instability that could lead to occasional brief showers, particularly in the afternoon. However, he noted that the cold air is weak, so the weather will remain relatively hot.
