TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Unstable weather conditions continue to affect Taiwan on Monday (April 8), with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected across the country, according to WeatherRisk.

The weather agency reported that temperatures this morning will range from 19 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Areas north of Chiayi and the eastern regions are experiencing widespread brief showers. The heat in the mountainous regions of Kaohsiung has intensified, leading to significant convective development and brief thunderstorms.

The unstable weather is expected to persist throughout the day, with localized brief showers or thunderstorms likely. The northern, central, and eastern regions are expected to be most affected by the rainfall.

Meanwhile, mountainous regions in the central and southern parts of the country may experience short periods of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

The weather front is expected to gradually move away by the evening of April 8, with a northeast monsoon affecting the weather on April 9. This will result in a slight drop in temperatures in the northern and northeastern regions, with highs of 20 to 24 degrees and lows of 16 to 19 degrees. The central and southern regions will be less affected, with highs of 26 to 33 degrees and lows of 20 to 23 degrees.

Starting Wednesday, the northeast monsoon will weaken, leading to more stable weather conditions that are expected to last until Sunday. Temperatures are expected to rise significantly, with highs of 30 to 32 degrees in the north and east and 32 to 36 degrees in the central and southern regions.

As the weather stabilizes, the western regions will experience deteriorating air quality due to increased ozone concentration. This could pose health risks to sensitive groups, and individuals with respiratory sensitivities are advised to monitor air quality when going outdoors.
