TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Tuesday (Dec. 26) for its handling of recent sexual harassment cases within the party.

Speaking in the second round of the presidential candidate television policy presentation, Hou highlighted the numerous sexual harassment incidents within the DPP in recent years, noting the absence of public responses from the party's Department of Gender Equality.

He questioned, "Mr. Lai Ching-te, do you think this is a virtue?"

In response to these scandals, Hou pledged to rigorously address sexual harassment and maintain strict moral standards among officials. His campaign emphasizes a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and sex scandals. "I have absolutely zero tolerance," stated Hou.

During the presentation, Hou's central theme focused on gender issues. He introduced three policies aimed at promoting women's interests: increasing women's representation in governance, enhancing maternal and child healthcare, and alleviating family care pressures.

These policy proposals underscore his commitment to gender equality and addressing the challenges faced by women in Taiwan.
