Weather shift to bring comfortable warmth in Taiwan: CWA (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) announced on Friday (Dec. 8) that Taiwan is set to experience sunny to cloudy weather, with significant radiational cooling in the early morning leading to a cold start to the day.
The northern parts of Taiwan are expected to see a day-night temperature difference exceeding 10 degrees Celsius.
This morning's lowest temperature, 11.6 degrees Celsius, was recorded at Liyu Lake, Hualien. Other areas, including Daxi District in Taoyuan, Guanxi Township in Hsinchu, Xihu Township in Miaoli, and Lunbei Township in Yunlin, also registered temperatures below 13 degrees Celsius.
During the day, temperatures are expected to rise quickly. The northern and eastern regions are anticipated to reach highs of 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, while the central and southern regions may see temperatures between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius.
From Saturday to Monday, a wind shift from easterlies to southerlies is predicted, leading to a gradual increase in temperature nationwide. This will result in mostly sunny to cloudy conditions and comfortable warmth.
By next Tuesday, a quick-moving frontal system, alongside a stronger northeast monsoon, is expected to cause a slight drop in temperatures. The northern and northeastern parts of Taiwan will experience cooler weather with brief, localized showers, while other regions will see minimal changes.
Starting next Wednesday, clear and sunny skies are expected to prevail across Taiwan.
