TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has announced its intention to scale new heights in recruitment after achieving a 10-year high with 1,135 hires this year. In 2024, TSMC aims to recruit over 1,000 young talents, riding the wave of Taiwan's booming employment market.
The leading chip maker reaffirmed its role as an industry leader in electric power supply provision. Aligned with the national goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, TSMC is committed to leading the charge with a robust and skilled workforce to ensure Taiwan's successful transition to full electrification.
The company outlined its multi-stage recruitment process, beginning with writing and speaking tests, followed by practical assessments, including on-site reviews and hands-on task evaluations.
The recruitment drive is set to fill 965 job positions across 16 disciplines, ranging from electric power distribution and transmission to civil engineering and integrated administration.
In a significant move toward inclusivity, TSMC plans to reserve 40 positions for applicants with physical and mental disabilities, pushing the total recruitment number beyond a thousand.
The preliminary exams are scheduled to take place in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Hualien on May 12 next year. Candidates who excel in the pre-employment assessments and complete the necessary training will be offered a starting salary of around NT$32,000.
TSMC is encouraging the public to apply and contribute to the collective effort in maintaining a stable and sustainable power supply for Taiwan's future.
