TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Minister of National Development Council (NDC), Kung Ming-hsin, remarked how President Tsai Ing-wen is closely monitoring the rollout of new services at the International Talent Taiwan Office. These services aim to attract a global talent pool and solve issues related to living inconveniences and children's schooling as they arrive in Taiwan.

Speaking about the founding values of the new center on Wednesday (Nov. 1), Minister Kung emphasized that the center has been established to cater to the interests of foreign talents coming to Taiwan. The center aims to enhance customer service by providing a one-stop service from postal and telecommunications services to specialist consultations. Additionally, an exclusive website will be launched by the end of the year to cater to their needs.

The NDC is actively engaged in the strengthening of international talent recruitment. The post-pandemic era has led to an intensifying war for young talent attraction around the world due to growing industry demands, and the NDC has set workforce goals to attract 400 thousand workers from abroad by 2030 to empower Taiwan as a key global economic powerhouse.

Furthering this initiative, the Ministry of Education (EDU) plans to direct a continuous stream of overseas students for long-term stay in Taiwan. With accumulated forces from the industry, government, and academia, the NDC foresees an active collaboration with the EDU in implementing the plan, thereby sustaining Taiwan as a top destination for international study and career pursuits.
