Sky Dragon military drills show joint operational skills (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's annual Air Force Tien Lung or "Sky Dragon" military drills began Monday (Oct. 30) and will continue until Friday.
Fighter jets, including the F-16V, Mirage 2000, and IDF, will participate in the exercise, working with related units to authenticate joint operational effectiveness.
The military exercises' airborne force-on-force subjects will verify the annual combat readiness results through air-to-air, air-to-sea, and air-to-ground warfare technique competitions.
The Air Force infantry and special forces units will also participate in the exercise, with subjects such as small arms firing, ammunition loading, and mobile defense operations included.
The Air Force will select outstanding pilots, including the champions in air combat, target shooting, and bombardment.
This major military exercise followed the "Chang Ching 17 Exercise" conducted by the army from Oct. 23 to 27 for the first time in six years.
