YUNLIN (TVBS News) — The live-fire "Chang Ching" exercise kicked off in Yunlin on Tuesday (Oct. 24), highlighting the nation's military capabilities and drawing widespread attention.

The exercise will run for seven days and six nights, featuring the Taoyuan-based Army's 269th Mechanized Infantry Brigade and the ROC Marine Corps' 99th Brigade.

The drill aims to evaluate the command efficiency of both brigades in actual conditions. Against this backdrop, no special traffic control measures are established, allowing civilian vehicles to drive alongside armored units in a striking juxtaposition.

An important feature of the exercise is the deployment of UAVs for enemy reconnaissance. Major General Hu Jui-hsun, the director of political warfare at the 10th Army Corps, stressed that the performance of the mechanized units was a standout aspect of the drill.

The smooth execution of the military exercise underscores the units' well-rehearsed training routines, a critical factor in light of the growing military threat from China.
