DPP’s approval rating plummets by 18 points (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) saw its approval rating plummet by 18 points, and nearly 60% agreed it's time for the DPP to step down, according to the latest poll released on Thursday (Oct. 19) .
The TVBS Poll Center survey shows DPP's approval rating falling from a high of 46% before the impeachment of Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu in June 2021 to 28%.
With less than three months until the 2024 presidential and legislative elections, the dissatisfaction rate rose to 58%.
Meanwhile, the Kuomintang (KMT) party's overall satisfaction rate increased to 23%, but the disapproval rate sat at 58%. In the public opinion poll, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) saw higher satisfaction levels at 29%, yet dissatisfaction remained at 41%.
The survey was conducted from Oct. 11 to 17, via landline and mobile telephone interviews. It included 1,024 participants aged 20 and over, capturing a comprehensive cross-section of Taiwan's electorate.
