Formosa Poll: 34.9% prefer DPP’s continued tenure (Hu Jui-chi)

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — As the 2024 presidential election gains momentum, Formosa, one of Taiwan's largest pollsters, revealed on Friday (Sept. 21) the results of its 43rd track poll.

Conducted from Sept. 18 to 20 this year, the survey asked which party's tenure in office would most favor the country's development over the next four years.

The poll's findings indicate that 34.9% of respondents prefer a continued tenure by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), while 18.2% favored a political change, backing the Kuomintang (KMT).

The Taiwan People's Party and non-partisans received support from 10.6% and 5.5% of participants, respectively. However, 30.7% of the respondents did not provide a clear answer.

When considering a political change and the possibility of 'unseating' the DPP, Formosa questioned whether people would vote for whoever leads the poll among Hou Yu-ih, Ko Wen-je, and Terry Gou just before the election. Only 31.7% agreed with the premise, 54.4% disagreed, and 13.8% abstained.

Formosa poll engaged 1,334 participants, aiming to provide an engaging perspective on Taiwan's political horizon.
