Hou addresses youth concerns in open letter (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih penned a letter titled "A Letter to the Youth," published in Mirror Media on Wednesday (Aug. 2).
In the piece, Hou discussed the anxieties and difficulties faced by young people, asserting that the key to improving their lives is enhancing the economy and ensuring cross-strait relations remain peaceful and stable.
"Money is the most timid," Hou reminded readers, "Without a safe and reliable environment, money runs faster than anyone else."
Hou pointed out that young people's main challenges are insufficient societal concern, economic disparity, an imbalance between wages and consumption, a disconnect between educational policies and the job market, unjust resource allocation and social inequities.
He added that resolving these issues may take considerable time. However, progress can be made as long as the correct direction is identified and proposed solutions truly address the core of the problems.
