TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A tropical disturbance east of the Philippines will likely develop into Typhoon Doksuri by Friday (July 21). Still, according to forecast models from the United States and Europe, its effect on Taiwan remains uncertain.

Wednesday saw localized brief showers across Taiwan, with eastern regions and the Hengchun Peninsula experiencing extreme rainfall. In the evening, there is a high likelihood of intense convection, leading to heavy thunderstorms.

The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) has issued a heavy rain advisory for Taitung County and Pingtung County, urging the public to exercise caution and carry rain gear when venturing outside.

Temperatures will be hot, with northern areas ranging from 24 to 36 degrees Celsius, central regions ranging from 23 to 36 degrees Celsius, southern areas ranging from 24 to 37 degrees Celsius, and eastern parts ranging from 23 to 37 degrees Celsius.

Humidity levels could decrease as Thursday approaches, but you should prioritize sun safety precautions. Regarding the potential trajectory of Typhoon Doksuri, experts said it is too early to determine its impact on Taiwan.

Given that the intensity of Doksuri will be higher than Typhoon Talim, authorities will continue to monitor the situation and provide timely updates to the public. As the situation unfolds, you are advised to stay informed through updates from authorities and prepare for possible impacts from Typhoon Doksuri.
