TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Starting today (March 6), students in Taiwan's schools and educational institutions have the option not to wear masks indoors as the indoor mask mandate is lifted.

The decision was announced by the CECC on Feb. 9, as COVID-19 cases in Taiwan continue to decrease.

However, certain places within the schools still require students to wear masks, including the school health centers, mass assembly events, food areas, and school buses.

Despite the new rules, some parents and teachers are still worried about the possibility of infection, and many cram schools are still asking students to wear masks and use partitions in class.

While the mask mandate has relaxed in Taiwan, it may take some time for residents to feel comfortable without masks.
