TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The trial run of the 2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival started on Wednesday night (Feb.1) in Taipei, lighting up the main lantern, "Brilliant Light of the Jade Hare."
The lantern is the first to incorporate robot modeling technology and draws inspiration from Taiwan's pioneering position in the semiconductor industry.
Also, the lantern designers used motion capture technology to incorporate the facial expression of Olympic gold medalist Kuo Hsing-chun into the robot design.
The festival will run from Feb. 5 till Feb. 19.
