Taiwan President denounces PLA’s large-scale military drills

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen denounced PLA's large-scale military drills around Taiwan on Friday (Jan. 6).

Tsai visited a military base in central Taiwan to show gratitude for their soldier's hard work.

During her visit, she emphasized the "continuous military activities of the Chinese People's Liberation Army do not help cross-strait relations."

And it "does not contribute to regional peace and stability.”

Tsai also pointed out that, when facing the "expansion of authoritarian rule," a country must continue to "strengthen [its] combat power and resilience" to ensure "the nation's security and interests."
