Elementary school creates digital library to promote reading

Guests celebrate the new Digital Philanthropic Library established by Taipei Private Tsai Hsing

TAIPEI (TVBS News) – Taipei Private Tsai Hsing Elementary School unveiled a new Digital Philanthropic Library on Monday (Dec. 12) established with the support of the Taiwan Reading and Culture Foundation. 

The new digital philanthropic library is named "Ko Hwa-wei's Digital Philanthropic Library" to thank and honor Professor Ko Hwa-wei, an outstanding Tsai Hsing alumni, for her efforts in the promotion of digital reading. 

 


At the unveiling ceremony, 12 students led guests to experience the specially designed interactive digital literary. Through the likes of digital puzzle-solving games, they could explore the history of Taipei's tea culture and learn about Maokong's local tea culture characteristics. 

Guests also immersed themselves in a digital AR experience to learn about wordless books, a journey combining art and reading. 

 


Also in attendance, Chen Yi-tsong from the Taipei City Government Department of Education presented a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Department of Education at the event, thanking the Taiwan Reading and Culture Foundation and all donors for their contribution to education and efforts in creating innovative and modern learning experiences for the teachers and students of Taiwan. 

Taipei Private Tsai Hsing Elementary School has long been deeply rooted in efforts to cultivate a strong literary reading culture. It has received multiple awards from the Department of Education of the Taipei City Government for its commitment to education.
