美國紐澤西州日前傳出一起離譜案件，一名韓裔女性在離婚後，竟設法取得造假出生證明，冒充自己只有15歲，登記就讀當地公立高中。《紐約郵報》（New York Post）報導，這名名叫申惠晶（Hyejeong Shin，音譯）的29歲女性，以造假文件欺騙高中入學後，在校園內形跡可疑、引起不少學生警覺，最後入學僅4天謊言就被戳破，如今面臨起訴、最高恐入獄服刑5年。
申姓女子的事情被美媒曝光後，隨即在推特、YouTube與TikTok等社群平台上，都引起網友熱烈討論，累積留言討論量高達數百萬則之多，她的行為讓美國民眾非常不能理解。

在使用造假證明曝光後，現年29歲的申惠晶遭到起訴，在法院上其代表律師表示，她之所以做出這個「重返校園」的行為，是因為剛剛遭遇離婚、又一人隻身在異國生活，想要藉此重回過去那段、生活在寄宿學校的溫暖和安全生活，律師也坦言，「這種行為和需求，確實很難讓他人理解或認同。」
檢察官在第二次審訊時，建議法官求處最高5年有期徒刑；但辯護律師表示，申惠晶2019年進入羅格斯大學（Rutgers University）就讀，曾因優異成績獲得獎學金，再加上又是初犯，希望法院能讓她使用特別條款假釋、不希望因此留下犯罪紀錄。
