TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Prosecutors questioned two executives Thursday (Dec. 4) in the Prince Holding Group (太子集團) cryptocurrency scam investigation. The conglomerate faces allegations of cryptocurrency investment fraud and money laundering with ties to Cambodia.
Authorities borrowed Mantanghung (滿堂紅) Chair Tsai Min-ju (蔡閔如) and questioned Neil Innovation's (尼爾創新) finance chief Cheng Chiao-mei (鄭巧枚) to clarify suspicious financial flows. The questioning represents an escalation in the investigation into the group's alleged criminal operations spanning multiple countries. The case involves nine companies in Taiwan serving as money laundering fronts.
Officials detained Tsai Min-ju on Nov. 13 for allegedly channeling fraudulently obtained funds into company accounts and using fake invoices to conceal transactions. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office, Taiwan's main prosecutorial body, raided Prince Holding Group's local offices on Nov. 5, detaining Wang Yu-tang (王昱棠), Ku Shu-wen (辜淑雯), and five others. The raids followed U.S. sanctions announced against the group on Oct. 14.
The Taipei District Prosecutors Office issued arrest warrants on Dec. 31, 2024, for Chang Kang-yao (張剛耀) and Lin Tai-jung (林泰榕) on embezzlement and money laundering charges. The pair allegedly moved approximately NT$9 billion (around US$287.5 million) from four companies into private accounts between Nov. 2020 and Feb. 2021. Both suspects left Taiwan in 2021.
