TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) arrived in Taiwan Friday (Aug. 22) for a strategic whirlwind visit, primarily focused on high-level meetings with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (TSMC, 台積電), the world's largest contract chipmaker. Huang disclosed that NVIDIA has submitted six cutting-edge chips, including advanced CPUs and GPUs, to TSMC for manufacturing, with production already underway on these next-generation processors.
Market analysts speculate that discussions regarding NVIDIA's contract for land acquisition in Beitou-Shilin Technology Park (北投士林科學園區), a major tech hub in northern Taiwan, likely factored into Huang's visit agenda. Huang emphasized NVIDIA's rapidly expanding business operations in Taiwan, highlighting collaborations with multiple chip companies and system suppliers to develop NVIDIA Constellation, the company's comprehensive platform. He praised Taiwanese companies for their exceptional performance and leadership in global electronics manufacturing.
Huang specifically highlighted Foxconn (鴻海), Quanta Computer Inc. (廣達), Wistron Corporation (緯創), and Wiwynn Corporation (緯穎) as crucial strategic partners in NVIDIA's Taiwan operations. This visit represents one of Huang's multiple trips to Taiwan throughout 2025, following his attendance at NVIDIA Taiwan's year-end celebration and his prominent participation in the prestigious COMPUTEX technology exhibition. The frequency of his visits underscores Taiwan's critical importance to NVIDIA's global supply chain strategy. ◼
