TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA (輝達) CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) emphasized the importance of reducing U.S. reliance on other nations by bringing tech manufacturing back home. During a CNN interview on Sunday (July 13), Huang highlighted this strategy as a way to alleviate pressure on Taiwan, a critical player in the semiconductor industry.

During the interview, Huang pointed out that the U.S. push for tech manufacturing reindustrialization is a completely correct move. He stressed the need for investment in manufacturing, noting the current lack of complete industry segments. He said manufacturing capabilities significantly contribute to economic growth and societal stability, and people can build fulfilling lives and careers without a Ph.D. in physics.

Huang stated that relocating manufacturing to the U.S. would not only strengthen the country but also reduce dependency on other nations, calling it a smart approach. Taiwan, home to the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電), plays a pivotal role in this sector. In March, President Trump announced TSMC's commitment to invest at least $100 billion in U.S. facilities, underscoring the significance of Huang's remarks.
