Nomi began his professional career with the Hanshin Tigers (阪神虎隊) in 2004 and captured the Central League strikeout title in 2012, demonstrating his exceptional ability to overpower opposing batters. He transferred to the Orix Buffaloes (歐力士猛牛) in 2021, where he achieved the prestigious career milestone of 1,500 strikeouts and became the 57th pitcher in Nippon Professional Baseball history to reach this remarkable accomplishment. His consistent performance across multiple teams established him as one of Japan's most respected pitchers.
Nomi compiled impressive statistics across 474 career games, recording 104 wins, 93 losses, four saves, and 57 holds while maintaining a solid 3.35 earned run average.
