TAIPEI (TVBS News) — iPASS Card (一卡通公司) announced that 7-ELEVEN stores across Taiwan, totaling over 7,000 locations, now offer the TPASS monthly commuter pass. This move makes 7-ELEVEN the first convenience store chain to provide this service, expanding access for commuters nationwide.
The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC, 交通部) launched the TPASS monthly pass in 2023, attracting over 10 million purchases and encouraging more people to use public transportation. iPASS Card stated that iPASS cardholders could purchase the TPASS monthly pass at 7-ELEVEN's on kiosks and will receive a limited offer of a NT$50 coupon, available to the first 10,000 users.
The coupon will be sent to the individual's iPASS MONEY app the following month and can be redeemed on purchases over NT$99 until the end of the month after receiving the coupon. With nearly 6.9 million users, iPASS MONEY is Taiwan's leading electronic payment brand, boasting over 52 million stored-value cards covering various usage scenarios.
iPASS Card aims to continue enhancing ticketing services, promoting green transportation, and creating a convenient, sustainable, smart living environment. As the initiative progresses, commuters can expect further developments in accessibility and sustainability in Taiwan's transportation landscape.
