TAIPEI (TVBS News) — EVA Air (長榮航空), Taiwan's second-largest international carrier, announced Monday (April 21) the launch of a new direct flight route connecting Taoyuan International Airport with Dallas, Texas, beginning Oct. 3. Travelers can secure reservations through the airline's official website starting Tuesday, with service operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft three times weekly, expanding Taiwan's air links to the American Southwest.
The new route targets Dallas-Fort Worth, America's fourth-largest metropolitan region with a population exceeding 8.3 million and corporate headquarters for more than 20 Fortune 500 companies spanning energy, healthcare, and technology sectors. Company officials emphasized that passengers arriving at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (台灣桃園國際機場), the island's primary international gateway, can seamlessly transfer to numerous major Asian destinations through the carrier's extensive regional network, strengthening commercial ties between Taiwan and the United States.
With the addition of Dallas, EVA Air's North American network will grow to nine direct destinations, complementing existing services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Chicago, and the Canadian cities of Vancouver and Toronto. Separately, the airline's budget subsidiary, Tigerair Taiwan (台灣虎航), announced plans to launch service between Taoyuan and Yonago in Japan's Tottori Prefecture beginning May 29, with initial twice-weekly departures scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. ★
