TAIPEI (TVBS News) — EVA Air (長榮航空) unveiled its fourth-generation Premium Economy Class (豪華經濟艙) on Monday (Feb. 17), aiming to enhance passenger comfort and boost revenue.
President Sun Chia-ming (孫嘉明) led the launch event, showcasing the new seats installed in Boeing 787-9 aircraft that will serve the Jakarta, Munich, Milan, and Vienna routes.
Sun emphasized the strong post-pandemic demand for air travel, citing a Civil Aviation Administration (民航局) prediction of over 10% passenger growth in 2025.
EVA Air, a pioneer in establishing the Premium Economy class since 1992, equipped the new upgrade with 28 seats, each offering a 42-inch seat pitch and a 15.6-inch high-definition screen.
To enhance the customer experience and strengthen its operations, EVA Air plans to upgrade its fleet with eight 787-9 and five 787-10 aircraft by 2029 and 18 A350-1000 aircraft beginning in 2027.
