He highlighted their recent lobbying efforts in Washington, which he said had successfully secured increased congressional backing for policies favorable to Taiwan. The business leaders' diplomatic outreach comes at a critical moment for the island's export-dependent economy.
The president revealed that his administration has assembled a specialized negotiation team to shield Taiwan's vital industries from adverse effects of America's new tariff regime. Lai outlined a comprehensive support package featuring nine strategic areas and 20 specific measures designed to bolster vulnerable domestic sectors.
