TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Northern and eastern Taiwan will experience cloudy skies with occasional light rain, while other regions will remain mostly cloudy on Wednesday (Feb. 26), according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署).
Temperatures will range from 14 to 24 degrees Celsius across the island, with Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu seeing slightly cooler conditions.
The CWA warned that fog and low clouds could reduce visibility in western regions, urging drivers to remain cautious. Additionally, the Ministry of Environment (MOENV, 環境部) noted that easterly winds might lead to pollutant accumulation on the leeward side of western Taiwan. Air quality in Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung will be "good," but northern Taiwan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, and Penghu may experience "moderate" levels.
In central Taiwan, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Matsu, and Kinmen, air quality will reach the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" level. Officials recommend that sensitive individuals limit outdoor activities and wear masks. As the day progresses, residents are advised to monitor updates from the CWA and MOENV for any changes in weather and air quality conditions.
