TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Asia-Pacific International Baseball Training Center (亞太國際棒球訓練中心) announced on Monday (Feb. 10) that it will host eight Chinese-Korea professional baseball exchange games (中韓職棒交流賽), offering free tickets to the public. The games, scheduled from Feb. 24 to March 4, will feature the NC Dinos (NC恐龍隊) from South Korea playing against various Taiwanese teams from the Chinese Profession Baseball League (CPBL, 中華職棒).
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) highlighted the stadium's 25,000-seat capacity, the largest outdoor baseball venue in Taiwan, complete with shopping and exhibition spaces. Chen Liang-chien (陳良乾), director of the Sports Bureau of Tainan City (台南市體育局), stated that the exchange games will gradually open 2,000 to 8,000 seats in the infield area for public experience. Starting on Friday (Feb. 14) at 10 a.m., fans can obtain free tickets via the KKTIX platform.
Director Chen said, on Feb. 26, March 1, and March 2, a gourmet market will enhance the fan experience outside the main stadium. He mentioned, the NC Dinos brought about 40 members to Tainan for spring training, including two charity coaching sessions led by their Chief Coach (首席教練), a former Major League Baseball (MLB, 美國職棒大聯盟) player, for Tainan's baseball coaches. Chen also added that South Korean cheerleaders and support groups (應援團) will participate in the games with the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions (統一獅) on Feb. 26 and CTBC Brothers (中信兄弟) on Feb. 27.
