TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese television host and actress Dee Hsu (小S) stated on Thursday (Feb. 6) that all of the arrangements to bring her late sister Barbie Hsu (大S) back from Japan were managed by the Hsu family and Dee's husband Mike, instead of Barbie's ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲).
Barbie Hsu tragically passed away in Japan during the Lunar New Year holiday. Her ashes were transported via a VistaJet private flight back to Taiwan on Wednesday, which reportedly cost approximately NT$360,000 (US$11,000) per hour.
The rumor, which was circulated widely on Weibo, suggested that Wang covered the cost of the flight and other arrangements, drawing criticism toward Barbie's husband, DJ Koo (具俊曄), from Chinese online users. The rumors prompted Dee Hsu to clarify things through her manager.
Dee Hsu expressed her frustration over the misinformation, questioning the origins of the rumor by saying, "God is watching over us, especially since my sister is in heaven now. Will this intolerable lie continue to appear?"
The Hsu family opted not to hold a farewell ceremony, respecting Barbie Hsu's preference for privacy. Dee urged those who miss her sister to keep her memory in their hearts, expressing gratitude for the love shown toward her sister.
