TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The TSG Hawks (台鋼雄鷹隊) announced on Tuesday (Jan. 21) that they will host the TSG Hawks vs. Oisix Niigata Albirex 2025 (2025港都台日親善交流戰) on Jan. 27-28 at Kaohsiung Chengching Lake Baseball Stadium (澄清湖棒球場). The event will feature the Oisix Niigata Albirex (Oisix新潟天鵝之皇隊), marking a significant collaboration between the Hawks and the Kaohsiung City Government.
The TSG Hawks commenced spring training last Monday in preparation for their second year in the top-tier league. The team has been training in Japan to enhance their skills since last fall. This upcoming series will be their first official home game at Chengching Lake Stadium.
The games will draw attention to notable matchups, including former Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters (北海道日本火腿鬥士) outfielders Yang Dai-kang (陽岱鋼) and Wang Po-jung (王柏融). Yang, who joined the Oisix Niigata Albirex last year, will play in front of Taiwanese fans for the first time since the 2017 Asia Professional Baseball Championship (亞洲職棒冠軍爭霸賽) warm-up games. Additionally, Japanese pitchers Kasahara Shotaro (笠原祥太郎) and Yoshida Kazumasa (吉田一將) will face off, having played for both teams.
Fans can anticipate the release of presale tickets in early February. This event strengthens the bonds between Taiwan and Japan and offers fans a chance to witness top-tier baseball action.
