TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) will attend the opening ceremony of ASE Technology Holding's (日月光投控) Siliconware Precision Industries Co., Ltd. (矽品) Tepz Branch (潭科廠) on Thursday (Jan. 16) in Taichung City. This visit underscores the close collaboration between NVIDIA and SPIL in the artificial intelligence chip sector, SPIL noted.
A day earlier, the Taichung City Government extended an invitation to Huang to visit a local night market, but they have yet to receive a response. Wu Chun-ming (吳浚銘), the director-general of the Feng Chia Night Market (逢甲觀光夜市) vendors' committee, expressed enthusiasm for Huang's potential visit, stating they would warmly welcome him and introduce him to the market's signature snacks.
The Taichung City Government previously expressed hopes of attracting NVIDIA to establish a presence in the city. Officials hinted that Huang might appear at Feng Chia Night Market or the Yizhong Shopping District (一中商圈), although no confirmation has been made.
Huang's visit could signal further developments in Taichung's tech landscape and strengthen ties between local businesses and international tech giants.
