TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei's Department of Legal Affairs (台北市法務局) announced on Monday (Jan. 13) that Feastogether Group's (饗賓餐旅公司) plans to compensate customers who experienced discomfort after dining on Jan. 5-6. A suspected food poisoning incident occurred at Feastogether Group's Inparadise Xinyi (饗饗信義店).
Feastogether Group stated that customers presenting medical documents will receive reimbursement for medical expenses. The company has suspended operations from Jan. 8 to 12 and will assist affected patrons in rescheduling dining appointments or visiting other restaurants. Customers who cancel their reservations will receive a refund and double the compensation.
The company has conducted a thorough internal audit and proactively shared all food safety records, ingredient management, and employee health information with Taipei's Department of Health (台北市衛生局). The department indicated that test results will take one to two weeks. If deemed a food poisoning case, the company could face fines ranging from NT$60,000 to NT$200 million under the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation (食安法).
Chief Consumer Protection Officer Yang Li-ping (楊麗萍) emphasized the importance of a comprehensive compensation plan by Feastogether Group before the investigation concludes. Yang urged the company to prioritize consumer needs and address each affected customer to ensure their rights.
