YUNLIN (TVBS News) — Yunlin County Commissioner Chang Li-shan (張麗善) marked her sixth anniversary in office on Friday (Dec. 20) by announcing a collaboration with Foxconn Group (鴻海集團) to introduce generative AI in smart transportation, healthcare, and agriculture.
Yunlin County has faced challenges in agricultural development, prompting a digital transformation strategy in recent years. The partnership aims to launch the Yunlin AI Smart City 2.0 initiative, enhancing the county's technological landscape.
Chang noted that the integration of smart technology and AI has boosted local industries, earning Yunlin recognition as Asia's only entry in the ICF Global Top 7 Smart Cities this year. Lin Hong-jie (林鴻傑), special assistant to the chairman of Foxconn, praised Yunlin's smart city achievements, and confirmed that Foxconn will support Yunlin County's implementation of generative AI across various sectors.
Chang emphasized the widespread application of smart technology in Yunlin, including smart agriculture, fisheries, long-term care, disaster prevention, and education. She expressed hope that the 2.0 initiative will further improve residents' quality of life and convenience.
