TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部) clarified on Sunday (Dec. 15) that the recent directive pushed forth by Minister J.W. Kuo (郭智輝) aims to ensure consistent messaging. In addressing recent media reports suggesting Kuo has imposed a strict communication policy across its units and affiliated enterprises, the MOEA explained that they initially allowed only the minister's office director to communicate externally, but it has since seen slight relaxations.

The MOEA added that Kuo, who hails from the private sector, emphasizes a unified team culture and respects the professionalism of ministry personnel. The ministry stressed the importance of maintaining a consistent tone in internal communications and introduced a "report-back" system to streamline communication processes further.

Despite the initial resistance to the directive, the ministry maintains that each bureau and affiliated company originally had its spokesperson mechanism. It reassured the public that its commitment to effective social communication remains unchanged and underlined its ongoing dedication to transparency.
