TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (TIAC, 桃園機場公司) convened the Taoyuan Airport Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 20, drawing over 200 attendees, including CEOs from Airports Council International and Kansai International Airport (關西機場).
The forum centered on sustainable and smart development within the aviation sector, underlining the airport's dedication to innovation and growth. TIAC unveiled plans to inaugurate the north concourse of Terminal 3 in 2025, with the full terminal completion slated for 2027. This expansion aims to elevate Taoyuan Airport's annual service capability to 57 million passengers.
In the past three years, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC, 交通部) has invested NT$5.2 billion in renovations and digital upgrades to address post-pandemic travel needs and embrace sustainability and AI trends.
Lee Chun-te (李俊德), TIAC's Vice President, underscored the ongoing initiatives to enhance travel experiences through the Terminal 3 and third runway projects. Concurrently, Huang He-ting (黃荷婷), the MOTC's Chief Secretary, announced the launch of a digital information integration platform in partnership with 240 entities to expedite services.
The airport corporation remains committed to delivering a more convenient and comfortable smart travel experience, reinforcing its status as a key hub in East Asia. As developments progress, stakeholders anticipate notable improvements in operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
