TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chunghwa Telecom (中華電信) announced Monday (Nov. 18) its inclusion in Newsweek's "World's Most Trustworthy Companies 2024," marking it as Taiwan's only telecom firm on the list. This recognition comes after a comprehensive evaluation of nearly 6,000 companies in 20 countries and 23 industries, highlighting customer, investor, and employee trust.
Chairman Alex C.C. Chien (簡志誠) emphasized that receiving such international recognition underscores the importance of trust as the foundation for sustainable business operations. Chien claimed the company's commitment to stability amid rapid changes. Chunghwa Telecom highlighted its status as Taiwan's sole provider of a comprehensive 360-degree network coverage spanning land, sea, satellite, and air. This distinction sets it apart in the telecom industry and reinforces its reputation for reliability and innovation.
In response to AI and cloud computing trends, Chunghwa Telecom recently partnered with Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) to launch the world's first international IOWN all-optical network. This collaboration positions the company at the forefront of technological advancement, aligning with its mission to lead in the evolving digital landscape.
