TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A opposition Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) legislator on Monday (Nov. 18) praised Lin Hsin-i (林信義) for his commendable performance at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) in Peru, which concluded successfully on Nov. 16. Lin, representing Taiwan, effectively conveyed the nation's positions during the summit, aligning with this year's theme, "Empower. Include. Grow."
Looking ahead to the 2026 APEC summit, KMT Legislator Lin Szu-ming (林思銘) expressed hope that China, as the host, will allow Taiwan's envoy to participate smoothly based on equality principles. Lin, serving as a presidential senior advisor and chairman of Taiwania Capital (台杉投資管理顧問公司), participated actively in the meeting.
President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) had tasked Lin with communicating Taiwan's critical stances that Taiwan contributes positively to the international community, supports a fairer and more inclusive global trade order, and promotes digital trade development with other economies.
