TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) condemned illegal stalking on Monday (Nov. 11), voicing strong support for cheerleader Lee Da-hye (李多慧).

Lee, a member of the Dragons (味全龍) cheerleading squad, reported the incident to police on Nov. 10 after a white sedan followed her for 90 minutes while she rode her scooter home to Sanchong (三重) on Nov. 9. New Taipei City police have initiated an investigation and are providing her with safety protection.

Chiang, who spoke at the unveiling ceremony of the first train for Taipei Metro's Wanda Line (萬大線) alongside New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜), called Lee a diligent and positive individual. He emphasized that Taiwanese people support her wholeheartedly.

Hou highlighted Lee's role as the ambassador for the New Taipei City WJS Marathon (萬金石馬拉松) and her residence in Sanchong. He underscored the importance of everyone's privacy rights. Hou also assured that the Women and Children Protection Brigade of the New Taipei City Police Department (新北市警察局婦幼隊) is thoroughly investigating the case and ensuring Lee's safety.
