TAIPEI (TVBS News) — According to Central News Agency (CNA, 中央社), The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA, 中華民國棒球協會) on Wednesday (Nov. 6) expressed confidence in the Taipei City Government's ability to resolve safety inspection issues at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) ahead of the 2024 WBSC Premier 12 tournament.
The tournament's Group B preliminaries are set to begin on Nov. 13 at the Taipei Dome. However, the venue still needs to complete the required public safety inspection declaration, resulting in a fine of NT$120,000 and a 10-day deadline to comply. Commissioner of the Department of Urban Development (都發局) Chien Seh-fang (簡瑟芳) stated they would strongly urge Farglory (遠雄) to finish the safety declaration process within two days.
The association's Secretary-general, Lin Tsung-cheng (林宗成), noted that the association is responsible for organizing the games in collaboration with the city government, which will handle other aspects. As the host of the 2024 WBSC Premier 12, the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association is gearing up for Taiwan's first match against South Korea.
