TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's labor minister announced on Wednesday (Oct. 30) that Taiwan will host its first bilateral working-level meeting with India in November. The meeting aims to address labor issues and has invited Indian officials to visit Taiwan.

During a report to the Legislative Yuan's "Social Welfare and Environmental Hygiene Committee" (社福及衛環委員會), Ho Pei-shan (何佩珊) addressed concerns about the social impact of introducing Indian migrant workers, reassuring that the pilot program will remain small in scale.

Workforce Development Agency Director-General Tsai Meng-liang (蔡孟良) elaborated that the working group meeting will not be a one-time event. He said the initial meeting will establish the scope and content of future discussions, ensuring both sides reach a consensus.

To facilitate understanding, Tsai mentioned plans to arrange visits for Indian representatives to observe Taiwan's work environment for migrant workers. He stated that future plans include sending Taiwanese representatives to India for discussions. The level of Indian officials visiting Taiwan remains to be confirmed by the Indian side.
