TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Vice Premier Cheng Li-chiun (鄭麗君) stressed on Monday (Oct. 28) that the government's initiative, "Smart Taiwan 2.0" (智慧國家2.0), aimed to elevate Taiwan's strategic position in the democratic supply chain through public-private collaboration.
Speaking at the 2024 Taiwan Presidential Hackathon (2024總統盃黑客松), Cheng expressed gratitude to participants and recognized the event as a vital platform for cross-agency, interdisciplinary, and intergenerational collaboration.
As Taiwan will enter a "super-aged" society in 2025, prompting this year's theme, "Aging Well Together, Health Sustainability" (樂齡共好.健康永續). Cheng highlighted the technological innovations proposed to address current societal challenges and enhance public service, driving smart governance innovation.
Cheng called for more civic tech innovations to tackle healthcare challenges in an aging society, aligning with President Lai Ching-te's (賴清德) "Healthy Taiwan" (健康台灣) policy goals. She emphasized the importance of public-private efforts in this endeavor.
