TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Typhoon Kong-rey (康芮颱風) could delay the highly anticipated "Just Love It" (一路向東) concerts by Taiwanese band Mayday (五月天), scheduled for Nov. 2-3 in Hualien (花蓮), the Hualien County Government Tourism Department (花蓮縣府觀光處) announced on Monday (Oct. 28).
Yu Ming-hsun (余明勲), the head of the Hualien County Tourism Department, noted that some travelers have already canceled their accommodations due to the approaching storm. He expressed regret over the situation and encouraged fans to keep Hualien in their travel plans if the concert is postponed. He also said they would discuss contingency plans if the typhoon affected the area.
Meanwhile, Mayday's management company, B'in Music (相信音樂), stated they will closely monitor the typhoon's progress and maintain communication with relevant authorities. The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 氣象署) predicted that Typhoon Kong-rey will move northwest toward Taiwan. Authorities may issue a sea warning as early as Tuesday afternoon or evening, with a land warning potentially following on Wednesday.
