TAIPEI (TVBS News) — As Halloween approaches next week, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) on Thursday (Oct. 24) urged passengers to avoid overly gory costumes when riding the Taipei metro. The mayor emphasized that the Taipei Metro has the authority to deny entry to passengers whose costumes are excessively bloody.
The Taipei Metro reminded passengers to avoid costumes that are too revealing, bloody, or excessively frightening to prevent alarming other riders. Violators may face denial of service, and those who refuse to comply could incur a fine of up to NT$7,500.
In previous years, celebrities like JJ Lin (林俊傑) and Harry Chang (懷秋) encountered issues during Halloween when they dressed as Darth Vader and Ultraman, respectively. They were asked to remove their masks for inspection, underscoring the priority of passenger safety.
When asked by the media about his own Halloween plans this year, Chiang teased that his costume would surprise everyone.
