TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on Monday (Oct. 14) shared her recent meeting with 10 Taiwanese students in the Czech Republic, and encouraged them to make friends from different countries and share Taiwan's perspectives globally.
Tsai's eight-day visit to Europe began on Oct. 12, with her first stop in the Czech Republic to attend the Forum 2000 Foundation annual conference. Tsai shared on Facebook that during the meeting, she discussed Taiwan's role in the global supply chain and geopolitical issues with those students.
Some students mentioned that their culinary skills improved since studying in the Czech Republic. Acknowledging the challenges of obtaining certain ingredients during the European winter, Tsai brought snacks and her favorite instant noodles from Taiwan to share with the students, offering a taste of home.
Tsai expressed gratitude for the students' valuable insights, which provided her team with a broader perspective on issues affecting Taiwan. She believes the presence of Taiwanese students in the Czech Republic will strengthen ties between Taiwan and the Czech Republic.
