TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Investigators from the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office (北檢) on Monday (Oct. 14) summoned the head of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (文華東方酒店) in connection with the Core Pacific City (京華城) case.

Authorities brought Lin Ming-Chun (林命群) in as a witness for further questioning at the prosecutor's office around noon as prosecutors continued delving into a political donation case involving former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲).

To clarify the flow of funds, officials last week interviewed 11 witnesses, including Ko's former aides Vincent Chou (周榆修) and Dai Yu-wen (戴于文). The investigation aims to trace the origins and destinations of the political contributions.

On Oct. 9, authorities called over a dozen individuals as witnesses, including Gary Wang (王令麟), founder of Eastern Media Group (EMG, 東森集團), and Chang Kao-shiang (張高祥), chairman of Maw Der Property Development (茂德集團).

They also questioned Keelung Deputy Mayor Chiu Pei-lin (邱佩琳), gambling tycoon Chen Ying-chu (陳盈助), Chen's assistant Chiu Ching-chang (邱清章), and former Taipei City Hall office director Hsieh Ming-chu (謝明珠).

Further interviews on Oct. 11 included Lin Chih-lang (林志郎), father of former New Taipei City Councilor Lee Wan-yu (李婉鈺), and Wu Mei-shou (吳梅壽), chairman of a medical association. Authorities released both men after questioning.
