TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Former President Tsai Ing-wen's (蔡英文) office emphasized on Monday (Oct. 7) that other details of her upcoming European visit remain under arrangement, and advised against speculation or reliance on unverified reports.

Tsai's office made this statement after Reuters reported Tsai also plans to visit France and Belgium during her eight-day trip, potentially stirring sensitivities in Beijing.

Her office reiterated that further details of her itinerary would be disclosed at an appropriate time, urging the public and media to refrain from speculation or citing unconfirmed reports.

Tsai announced earlier that day that she would visit Prague on Oct. 12 to attend the 28th Forum 2000 and deliver a speech. Her office noted that she had received multiple invitations from the Forum 2000 Foundation during her presidency to deliver video speeches.

This time, the foundation invited her to the in-person event, showing appreciation for its unwavering support of Taiwan's democracy.

A source revealed that President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) strongly encouraged and facilitated Tsai's upcoming European visit. He dispatched National Security Council advisor Alex Huang (黃重諺) to accompany her, aiming to maximize Taiwan's diplomatic visibility through the former president's trip.
