TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Taoyuan City Government Department of Transportation (桃園市政府交通局) has unveiled a new pedestrian signal design featuring a green figure holding a national flag at the intersection near City Hall Plaza to celebrate National Day.
Chang Hsin-fu (張新福), the department head, said the design also incorporates elements like the national flag, Double Ten, and fireworks to immerse citizens in the festive spirit.
The innovative pedestrian signal includes LED dynamic images, promoting local culture while drawing attention to traffic safety and increasing pedestrian awareness.
Chang noted that during the red light phase, the "Little Red Man" will also raise a flag, complemented by a scrolling marquee displaying the message "Glorious National Day, Shine on Taoyuan" (光輝國慶 閃耀桃園) to enhance the National Day atmosphere.
The Taoyuan City Government Department of Transportation aims to celebrate National Day with residents through this creative design, maintaining its use throughout October.
This effort underscores the city's commitment to safety and cultural celebration, offering a unique way to engage the community during this significant time.
