HSINCHU (TVBS News) — Authorities in Hsinchu County announced Friday (Sept. 27) that a Vietnamese spouse used Facebook to connect missing migrant workers with a cleaning company, violating the Employment Service Act (就業服務法).
Officials are processing the case for administrative penalties.
The specialized operation brigade (專勤隊) revealed that the cleaning company hired a Vietnamese woman who recruited foreign individuals. Although the company claimed they contracted the woman to mediate for legal foreign spouses or students, officials stated this involved illegal mediation and employment.
Officials emphasized that under the Employment Service Act, mediating for foreigners to work illegally can result in fines ranging from NT$100,000 to NT$500,000. Those who profit from such actions face up to three years in prison and fines of up to NT$1.2 million. The brigade urged the public not to employ or mediate illegal foreign workers to avoid penalties.
